• The NCHSAA Board of Directors approved the formation of a women's wrestling invitational at the December, 2018 meeting.  This invitational will take place on February 2, 2019 at the LJVM Annex in Winston-Salem.  The North Carolina chapter of USA Wrestling is hosting this event in conjunction with the Elementary and Jr. High State Championships. 

• We are working diligently to get all updated information posted on our website, but here are a few initial items of information:

    There are roughly 230 female wrestlers listed in trackwrestling in the state.

• Due to the small numbers in certain weight classes, we will conduct the invitational in 11 weight classes:
  • 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 170, 195, 285

• Female wrestlers in the 160, 182, and 225 weight classes are allowed to compete, but will compete in the 170, 195, 285 classes respectively.
• Each bracket will have a maximum of 16 wrestlers per weight class and will be conducted with wrestle-backs. 
  • If more than 16 females register for a weight class, the wrestlers with the highest 16 winning percentages will make-up the bracket.
• We will give medals to the top 4 females in each class.

      Any female competing in the tournament must be a part of the school's wrestling team and must be in the OPC/Trackwrestling system.

• Registration is now open and will be open until January 31st.  If your school has a female wrestler listed on your Trackwrestling roster, we have added the event to your schedule.  You will enter your athletes through this system as you normally would for a regional tournament.
