The AMAZING 2019 Boys Tennis Season finally had to come to an end at the individual NCHSAA 3A Regionals played at NC Wesleyan University.
Northside's two JUNIOR qualifiers were defeated in Regional competition: Cole Peterson (Wilson Fike) def. RYAN NGUYEN (Northside) (6-3) (6-4) and Brody Brice (Rocky Mount) def. KEVIN LIN (Northside ) (6-2) (6-3)
How MAGICAL was Northside's season?...WELL:
...NHS Boys Tennis had NEVER had a winning season before; many past seasons went winless; 2019 season = 11-3 record
...NHS Boys Tennis had NEVER defeated many teams on their schedule: such as Jacksonville, White Oak, West Carteret, Swansboro, etc; many past games were lost 9-0; Not in 2019!
...NHS Boys Tennis had NEVER won a CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP; but in 2019 they won the 3A Coastal Conference title
...NHS Boys Tennis had NEVER qualified for a NCHSAA DUAL TEAM PLAYOFF!; until 2019!
...NHS Boys 2019 Tennis Team consisted of 11 players: 2 Seniors, 8 Juniors and 1 Freshman...The team was coached by Chad Stevens.
