WINSTON-SALEM | Winston-Salem State freshman Robert Colon, a former Northside High School star, earned rookie of the week honors in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association after averaging 22.3 points a game in his first four college games.
Colon hit the game-winning shot with 0.4 seconds left in overtime for a 93-90 win over Concord. He finished with 26 points that game.
In his other three games, Colon scored 21, 22 and 20 points while hitting 8 of 25 3-pointers (32 percent).
