A longer Athletic Dead Period went into effect on Friday May 25th and will go through the last day of school on Friday June 8th.  This longer 10 school day Dead Period replaced the previous 5 day period at the end of 2nd semester. The NCHSAA wanted to make sure that the end of the academic year was protected.

During a Dead Period there can be no skill development sessions and the weight room must be closed.

Student-athletes will hopefully use this time to finish up their academic requirements and prepare for semester exams (reminder: EXAMS count 1/4 th of your semester grade). "You must PASS in order to PLAY" so turn in  all assignments, study, review, prepare!

A complete list of NHS Summer Workouts/Skill Sessions will hopefully be posted on the above Athletic Calendar soon. You must have an up-to-date physical and proof of insurance on file with the Athletic Director in order to participate.

There are two Summer Athletic Dead Periods...#1-July 2-July 8th (Go on vacation/relax over July 4th)...#2 July 16-July 22 (during the annual NC Coaching Clinic/East-West All-Star Games in Greensboro...another chance to relax/vacation).

The official 1st day of Fall Sport Practices is Monday July 30th.
