The regular track season meets and Conference Championships are over and those who have met the qualifying times and distances get a chance to compete against the "Best of the Best" at the NCHSAA Regional Meet on Saturday at Franklinton High School. Those who qualify in Regionals will extend their season to the NCHSAA State Championships next week.

Track is an interesting sport as it combines both team work and individual competition that requires a lot of practice repetition. In some events you feel like you're an individual competing yet you have your school name or logo across your jersey and points are scored for school finishes (usually 18 events). If you're part of a relay team, there is definitely team practice involved. The individual work-outs extend beyond the regular track practices to succeed.
